The Second Plant of TFTD Constructed to Provide Dies Products to Global TOYOTA Facilities
May 22, 2006

    TIANJIN, China, May 22 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The
construction of the second plant of TOYOTA FAW (TIANJIN)
DIES CO., LTD (TFTD) was completed completed on May 22nd in
TEDA, signalling the rise of dies production in Tianjin to
world level.

TFTD is a joint venture established by TOYOTA and FAW
to produce large automotive stamping dies. Supported by a
total investment of USD50million, TFTD adopts the world
most advanced technology to design and produce dies and
creats a special model of dies production that is unique to
TFTD, i.e., the production technology of
"cloning". This has largely shortened the
revising time at the later stage of dies production, which
enables the realization of the revolution: production of
dies digitally in batches.

With its second plant constructed, TFTD is planning to
export dies abroad while targeting at global TOYOTA plants.
By the end of May 2006, TFTD will be able to double its
capacity. This means it can meet the needs of producing 6
kinds of automotive dies annually rather than the original
3 kinds of automotive dies. TFTD will, in compliance with
TOYOTA's design, technology and quality requirement,
produce the stamping dies for all kinds of automobiles.

The construction of TFTD's second plant not only plays
a key role for low cost production and short lead time, but
it also produces far reaching influence on the automotive
production and development of the automotive dies. TFTD
will try to initiate an economy operation model in Tianjin
that is characterized by environment protection and cyclic
use of resources, i.e., in the process from materials of
dies, to foundry, dies processing and stamping, TFTD will
fulfill complete and closed recycling of materials and
resources, thus realizing the pollution-free "Zero
Emission".
