Established Chinese System Integrator and Cable Network Investor Expected to Play Leading Role in Facilitating Network Deployments

    SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 29 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- OpenTV

are working together to develop solutions to deploy
advanced digital television products and services to cable
networks in China.

    Star Communication's set-top box will integrate
OpenTV's latest generation products, Core2 and PVR2, with
the existing Conax conditional access, facilitating
advanced personal video recording (PVR) functionality, and
enhanced interactive television applications.  These
services will introduce a heretofore unavailable offering
of cable television to Chinese viewers.  In addition,
Star's relationships with cable's marquee cable players in
China offer a well-matched gateway for OpenTV's offerings.
