UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, To Visit China From 19 To 23 May 2006

    BEIJING, May 19 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The
Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, is
making an official visit to China from Friday 19 to Tuesday
23 May 2006.  On this occasion, he will meet with President
Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao£¬State Councillor Tang
Jiaxuan and other senior officials in Beijing.  

    During his four-day stay, Kofi Annan is also scheduled
to address a gathering at Beijing University and visit the
Olympic National Stadium in the Chinese capital.  

    China is the third stop on the Secretary-General's
current four-nation Asian tour.  He has already visited
South Korea and Japan.  After China, Kofi Annan will travel
to Viet Nam.
