~ビル管理システムのリニューアルを低コストで実現~
当社は、中小規模建物(※1)の省エネと運転管理の効率化を低コストで図る「部分更新対応型ビル管理システム」を開発いたしました。
現在、省エネと運転管理の効率化を図るため、自社建物への導入を開始しております。今後は、自社建物への活用だけでなく、お客さまへのエネルギーソリューションのひとつとして本システムをご提案してまいります。
ビル管理システムとは、建物内で稼働している空調・熱源・電気等の設備を統合し、監視・制御するものです。近年、省エネや運転管理の効率化のニーズが高まり、エネルギー管理や省エネ制御、遠隔操作等に対応する高機能化が求められております。
しかし、既設建物に設置されているビル管理システムの多くはメーカー独自仕様のため改造による高機能化は特別注文となり、また、リニューアル時においても中小規模建物に適した高機能システムが少なく、いずれも高コストでした。
本システムでは、このたび開発した「協調コントローラ(※2)」および「信号入出力装置(※2)」を採用することにより、既設ビル管理システムとの協調連携制御を行うことが可能となり、既設システムそのものの改造を必要としない低コストでのリニューアルを実現することが出来ました。
なお、「協調コントローラ」は、松下電工株式会社殿(大阪府門真市大字門真1048番地)、「信号入出力装置」は、渡辺電機工業株式会社殿(東京都渋谷区神宮前6丁目16番19号)と共同開発いたしました。
※1…延べ床面積で概ね20,000m2以下の建物が対象となります。

今回開発したシステムの主な特長は以下のとおりです。
1.部分更新が可能
○必要な部分から段階的な更新が可能であることはもちろん、全面リニューアルにも対応
2.既設ビル管理システムの高機能化
○省エネ自動制御(照明と空調等との連動制御、室内CO2濃度による最小換気制御等)
○遠隔操作(Webサーバの搭載によりIP網で遠方の汎用パソコンから操作や監視が可能)
○エネルギー管理(トレンドグラフ表示、設備性能評価等が可能)
3.イニシャルコストの低減
○従来方式と比較した場合、約30%のコストダウン(当社建物でモデル試算)
※8月23日(水)~25日(金)に開催される「ENE-WAY2006」(名古屋市中小企業振興会館「吹上ホール」)にて、本システムの展示を行います。

当月は停滞した梅雨前線の影響で曇りや雨の日が多く、既存店ベースの来店客数が10億989万人(前年同月比-4.1%)と5ヶ月連続のマイナスとなった。
また、たばこ増税に伴う前月6月度の駆け込み需要の反動により買い控えがみられ、既存店ベースの客単価は562.4円(前年同月比-2.2%)と2ヶ月ぶりのマイナスとなった。その結果、既存店ベースの売上高は5,876億円(前年同月比-5.2% )となり2ヶ月ぶりのマイナスとなった。

The Ferrari Panamerican 20,000 begins August 24, when

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Aug. 7 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- BP
Exploration Alaska, Inc. has begun an orderly and phased
shutdown of the Prudhoe Bay oil field following the
discovery of unexpectedly severe corrosion and a small
spill from a Prudhoe Bay oil transit line. Shutting down
the field will take days to complete. Over time, these
actions will reduce Alaska North Slope oil production by an
estimated 400,000 barrels per day.

The decision follows the receipt on Friday, August 4 of
data from a smart pig run completed in late July. Analysis
of the data revealed 16 anomalies in 12 locations in an oil
transit line on the eastern side of the oil field.
In response to the inspection data, BP conducted follow
up inspections of anomalies where corrosion-related wall
thinning appeared to exceed BP criteria for continued
operation. It was during these follow up inspections that
BP personnel discovered a leak and small spill estimated at
4 to 5 barrels.
The spill has been contained and the clean up effort is
underway. The pipeline was shutdown at 6:30 am Sunday
morning. BP has notified state and federal officials of the
decision and will work closely with the U.S. Department of
Transportation and the Alaska Department of Environmental
Conservation, among others.
"We regret that it is necessary to take this
action and we apologize to the nation and the State of
Alaska for the adverse impacts it will cause," said BP
America Chairman and President Bob Malone. "However,
the discovery of this leak and the unexpected results of
this most recent smart pig run have called into question
the condition of the oil transit lines at Prudhoe Bay. We
will not resume operation of the field until we and
government regulators are satisfied that they can be
operated safely and pose no threat to the
environment."
BP is identifying and mobilizing additional resources
from across Alaska and North America in order to speed
inspection of remaining Prudhoe Bay oil transit lines. BP
operates 22 miles of oil transit pipeline at Prudhoe Bay.
Smart pigging inspection has been completed over about 40
percent of that length.
BP previously announced plans to replace a three-mile
segment of pipeline following inspections conducted after a
large spill discovered on March 2, 2006.

CONCORD, Mass., Aug. 7 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- A newly
published study provides a listing of the total
concentration of antioxidants for more than 1,000 commonly
consumed U.S. foods and beverages.
Ranking the items by antioxidant concentration per
serving size, the five foods and beverages with highest
antioxidant levels were blackberries (144g), Welch's
(purple) 100% Grape Juice made from American Concord grapes
(240 ml), walnuts (28g), strawberries (166g) and artichoke
hearts (84g). These items ranked higher than blueberries,
red wine, chocolate, coffee and tea -- often touted for
their high antioxidant capacity.
The study, which appears in the July issue of the
American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, was conducted
independently of any industry sponsors. Researchers from
the University of Oslo, Norway, Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State University, and the University of
Minnesota used the FRAP (ferric reducing ability of plasma)
assay method to measure and compile this expanded listing of
total concentration of antioxidants for 1,113 U.S. foods and
beverages. Food samples were obtained from the U.S.
Department of Agriculture National Food and Nutrient
Analysis Program.
"Antioxidants are bioactive compounds in foods
that play an active role in the human body. By quenching
free radicals they help maintain oxidative balance and
contribute to good health," explained Carla McGill,
PhD, RD, a nutrition consultant. "Many
high-antioxidant fruits and vegetables can be identified by
their deep, dark coloring. In fact, in this study,
researchers found that blackberries and Welch's (purple)
100% Grape Juice made from American Concord grapes had the
highest antioxidant contents per serving of all foods
measured."
The researchers quantified the antioxidant
concentration of the foods by measuring the antioxidant
concentration per typical serving size. For juices this was
a 240 ml serving. Welch's (purple) 100% Grape Juice made
from American Concord grapes had the highest antioxidant
concentration of all juices with 4,089 mmol/serving, and
ranked #2 over all samples tested, whereas the average
antioxidant content for all grape juices tested was much
lower at 2,557 mmol/serving.
Recently, consumers have begun incorporating
antioxidant rich foods into their diets to decrease risk
for disease and to delay the onset of many age-related
conditions. In fact, according to the U.S. Institute of
Food Technologists, sales of products carrying an
antioxidant claim jumped nearly 20 percent last year. One
of every four consumers says they eat fruits or vegetables
to prevent disease, one in three eats them to feel healthy,
and nearly nine of ten eat them to stay healthy. This
present study provides consumers with a guide to help
decide what foods and beverages to include in the diet to
maximize antioxidant consumption.

Achievo(R) Corporation, the leading global software and

the creation of two new business groups in China to focus on
core businesses and raise the level of service and support
it provides to its global customers. The Achievo
Multinational Business Group and the Achievo Japan Business
Group, both located in China, will be headed by Vincent Lin,
PhD and James Li, PhD, respectively. Drs. Lin and Li will
report to Dr. Robert P. Lee, Achievo's chairman and chief
executive officer.

The Asia divisions will now report to the business

Dalian, China and Tokyo, Japan); Achievo ANS (Tokyo, Japan
and Beijing, China) and Achievo Wintech (Shanghai, China)
report to the Japan Business Group.

that Raymond Tong has been named executive vice president of
worldwide integration and transformation. Mr. Tong will be
located in China and will report to Dr. Robert P. Lee,
Achievo's chairman and chief executive officer.

In this position, Mr. Tong will have worldwide
responsibility on behalf of the corporation to ensure that
acquired companies are integrated efficiently into the
Achievo model, and make certain that all of these companies
leverage each other's strengths, expertise and abilities to
deliver the highest quality service to Achievo's customers.
Prior to this role, Mr. Tong served as president of
Achievo China. He joined the company when it began in
2002, and was the senior executive sent to China to build
Achievo's China operations.

having built a vibrant organization from one employee to
almost 1,000 employees in China in less than four years.
He helped develop an integration process that has

Mr. Tong was raised in Hong Kong, educated in the
United States, and worked for companies in the U.S. and
China. He has 20 years of product development and
executive management experience in the information
technology industry, particularly in telecommunications.
He participated in the development of the Rolm PhoneMail
product, the world's first voice mail system, in the early
1980s.
Mr. Tong later joined Voysys Corporation as director of
software engineering, responsible for leading the
development and successful launch of "StarTalk,"
an OEM voice mail system for Nortel's popular NorStar key
system. After leaving Voysys in 1997, Mr. Tong co-founded
Linux Systems Ltd. in Hong Kong which later became UniCONN
Technologies Limited. The company developed the UNISON
communication server, and in May 2000 launched
"HelloVoice," the first unified messaging service
in Hong Kong.
Mr. Tong has a bachelor's degree in electrical
engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a
MBA degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

the appointment of Dr. Vincent Lin to head the Achievo
Multinational Business Group, one of two new business units

press announcement released today.) Dr. Lin will report to

officer.

As the head of the Achievo Multinational Business
Group, Dr. Lin has overall responsibility for the
operations of Achievo's many business divisions in Greater
China including the original Achievo Beijing (Beijing),
Achievo Jeyo (Guangzhou) and Achievo VisualSoft (Taipei and
Jinan). In addition, Dr. Lin will work with the Achievo
divisions worldwide to plan, develop and align Achievo
China's back-end capabilities with the requirements of the
other divisions to support their sales and customer service
goals.
Dr. Lin and the Achievo Multinational Business Group
will be located in Beijing.
Dr. Lin comes to Achievo from Hewlett Packard where he
was senior director of HP's Global Delivery China Center,
and senior director of business operation and strategy for
HP's Global Delivery Application Services North Asia
Cluster. Dr. Lin set up and managed software development
centers in China in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and
Dalian. While at HP, he oversaw more than 1,300 software
professionals and consultants working to develop and
deliver application solutions to local and offshore
customers in Greater China, Japan, Korea, North Asia, the
United States and Europe.
Previously, Dr. Lin was Greater China Java chief
consultant and ISV director of Great China for Sun
Microsystems. He also held senior engineering positions at
Corel Corporation in Canada and at Varian Associates in the
U.S. Additionally, Dr. Lin is founder of a risk management
investment company with funding from Japan Softbank Venture
Capital.
Dr. Lin received a doctoral degree from the Dalian
Institute of Chemical Physics at the Chinese Academy of
Sciences, and a bachelor's degree from Jilin University.
He did doctoral research on artificial intelligent expert
systems at the Varian Research Center under the sponsorship
of Stanford University. In addition to his corporate
responsibilities at Achievo, Dr. Lin is a part time
professor of engineering at Beijing University of Posts and
Telecommunications Engineering Institute.

Government Printing Office (GPO) placed its first order with
the company, following Gemalto's electronic passport
technology qualification completion. The GPO and U.S.
Department of State evaluated the Gemalto solution at their
testing facilities and confirmed it fully satisfies the
agency's requirements for privacy protection, security,
durability, manufacturing yield, and transaction speed and
communications performance. The GPO, on behalf of the U.S.
Department of State, plans to incorporate the electronic
capability in all new passports to be issued in 2007. The
United States produced over ten million passports in 2005.

The Gemalto electronic passport (e-passport) technology
includes the company's highly secure operating system
software running in a large capacity contactless
microprocessor chip. The chip is embedded in a module that
is highly resistant to damage and then is integrated into

years of smart card experience, the Gemalto e-passport
solution has been designed to provide superior durability
and performance over the passport's expected 10-year life

Background information
To better protect travellers, streamline immigration
processes and improve the security of the passport booklet,
the U.S. Department of State and the GPO, which assembles
all U.S. passports, is issuing an electronic passport
booklet in accordance with the standards developed by the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), an agency
of the United Nations. Last year, ICAO adopted the chip
technology used in contactless smart cards as the standard
for electronic passports in order to add a facial biometric
and other security features to passport books.
The computer chip in the passport will contain all the
information that is now printed on the document's data page
including a digitized photograph of the passport owner. The
text data and the photograph can be read with a contactless
reader at a border entry point and the electronically
provided data can be compared to the information printed in
the passport at issuance.
Not to be confused with RFID, secure personal
identification devices using contactless smart card
technology have built-in and active security and encryption
capabilities to protect information access and
communications. More than 30 nations worldwide have already
pledged to adopt passport technology that conforms to an
international standard for electronic identification data.
