Varian Medical Systems to Exhibit New Clinac CX Medical Linear Accelerator and Other Cancer Treatment Technologies at ChinaMed Exhibition in Beijing

Varian to showcase full spectrum of hardware and software
products, including turnkey packages for launching
radiotherapy treatment programs

    BEIJING, April 20 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Varian Medical
Systems, Inc. 
(NYSE: VAR), the world's leading manufacturer of medical
devices and software for treating cancer and other medical
conditions with radiotherapy, will showcase a full spectrum
of cancer treatment technologies, including the company's
new Clinac(R) CX linear accelerator, at the upcoming
ChinaMed 19th International Medical Instruments and
Equipment Exhibition from April 22-24 in Beijing.

    "The Clinac CX is a new model linear accelerator
that will be made in China for the China market," said
Wang Xiao Yun, managing director of Varian Medical Systems
Beijing Co., Ltd.  The Clinac CX will be built in Varian's
new Beijing factory, slated to begin production this
summer.

    In addition to the Clinac CX, Varian will showcase its
Clinac EX and Trilogy(R) linear accelerators, equipped for
delivering the very latest treatments, such as
intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided
radiotherapy (IGRT) and image-guided radiosurgery (IGRS). 
The company will also demonstrate its treatment management
software products, which will be made available as part of
specially-configured turn-key packages customized for the
specific needs of Chinese clinicians and hospitals.

software to streamline the implementation of all forms of

make it easy for hospitals to start a new radiation therapy
program or add new clinical capabilities such as
image-guided radiation therapy."

    Varian's software for treatment planning, image
processing and clinical management is available in

implemented the software in the local language," Stark

    The ChinaMed exhibition will be taking place at the
China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing from April
22-24, 2007.
